In recent years, HKU has identified artificial intelligence (AI) as an educational endeavour that will benefit many areas central to everyday life and motivate interdisciplinary research in science and technology, environmental protection, medical informatics, health care, business, banking, finance, urban development, and neurocognitive science, to name just a few.The University launched different joint degree programmes, through the BASc (Bachelor of Arts and Science), in 2020 to nurture and train future leaders and equip them with new skills and knowledge in AI and related subjects.
