About Me

Professor Chen LIN is the Chair of Finance and Stelux Professor in Finance at HKU Business School. He also serves as Associate Dean (Research and Knowledge Exchange), Director of for Centre for Financial Innovation and Development, Director for the DBA programme, and Associate Director of HKU-SCF FinTech Academy. He is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh and a former Distinguished Visiting Professor of Finance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. Before joining HKU in 2013, he was the Choh-Ming Li Professor in Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has been invited by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to nominate candidates for the Nobel Prize in economics. His research in Fintech and digital finance has received major grants from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Professor Lin currently serves on a number of advisory and statutory bodies, including the Currency Board Committee of the Hong Kong Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee, Council of Advisors and Research Fellow at HKIMR of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and Fintech Advisory Group of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
