HKU IDS is pleased to share that Mr Hai ZHANG, Year 1 PhD student at HKU IDS, has been named one of the recipients of the 2026 HKU Common Core Tutor Innovation Awards.

Organised by the HKU Common Core Office, the Award recognises innovative and effective tutorial teaching within the Common Core curriculum. The 2026 awardees were selected following a review process including written submissions and interviews conducted by the Selection Panel.

Hai is a research postgraduate student at HKU IDS working in the area of Embodied AI, under the supervision of Prof Hongyang LI and co-supervision of Prof Fu ZHANG. He contributed as a tutor for CCAI9025: AI-driven Robotics for Humankind, a Common Core course developed by IDS, supporting students’ learning in an interdisciplinary course that connects artificial intelligence, robotics, and real-world applications.
